Bar Gratings

Knight Optical’s bar gratings are fashioned from a glass substrate with a chromium pattern of equally spaced bars and spaces. Bar gratings are commonly used for optical testing purposed is metrology such as ronchi testing, where a bar grating is used with a diffuser and light source to test the quality of optics.

Our stock range of Bar Gratings are 50mm square substrates with ruling over the whole area and can be custom edged to meet your requirements.

Apart from our custom bar grating solutions we also offer reticule solutions, a range of custom microstructures, custom calibration charts and custom resolution charts.

Typical processes we offer are vacuum metal deposition, etching and electroforming and photographic techniques. Anti-reflective coatings can be applied to bar gratings for increased performance.
