Optical Sandblasting

Sandblasting is where a stream of abrasive material is blasted at high pressure against a surface to carry out the following methods:

smooth a rough surface
roughen a smooth surface
shape a surface
remove surface contaminants

Sandblasting can be applied to all types of glass:

soda lime
toughened
ceramic
borosilicate

It is a very effective way to diffuse light and reduce glare and is ideal for use in rear projection screen systems.
