Technical Sales Account Advisor/ Manager- USA


The Technical Sales Account Advisor/ Manager builds and maintains relationships with existing customers through regular communication and excellent customer service. Tasks include meeting and exceeding sales targets, increasing their knowledge of the customer industry and sector, ensuring the highest levels of customer care, always providing technical knowledge and professional advice. Growing Knight Optical’ s customers spend through new business practices and sector orientated research.

Responsibilities

  • To develop long term relationships with current customers through regular communication and excellent customer service.
  • Advise customers regarding technical specification, design and application.
  • Establish and maintain contact with new customers with a view to increased business growth.
  • Ensure successful delivery of optical components – Process from start to finish liaising with relevant departments regarding quality, metrology and despatch.
  • Maximise customer spend through awareness of optical components that Knight Optical supply/manufacture.
  • Become a technical expert in specific industries and sectors.
  • Attend relevant industry and sector exhibitions. (Some worldwide travel may be required).
  • Attend customer meetings (Worldwide travel may be required).
  • To meet or exceed sales target.
  • To provide specialist technical advice in Optics and associated products.
  • Provide cost effective, quality driven and timely solutions for customers.
  • To provide technical support and advice to customers.
  • Training will be given on the above.
  • Maintain accurate database records of products

Hours of work
  • Monday – Thursday 08.30am – 5.00pm; Friday 08.30am- 3.00pm

Relevant Qualifications
  • Sales experience and/or customer service experience within a technical industry.
  • Degree in science or technical discipline an advantage.
  • Keen interest in science and technology
  • Willing team member
Key Skills – Essential 
  • Sales experience and/or customer service experience within a technical industry.
  • Excellent IT skills (including Power Point)
  • GED or Bachelors Degree in Science and/or technical related discipline
  • Passionate about Science and Technology
  • Good communication skills
Key Skills – Desirable 
  • Proven record of success in sales
  • Previous experience within the field
  • SAP (Training will be given)
