Knight Optical’s high-precision pinhole apertures are laser-drilled for sharp edge definition and accurate beam control. Standard pinholes are manufactured in stainless steel with localised thinning, while apertures below 3µm are produced in nickel cobalt for added strength.
Optical pinhole apertures, with fixed apertures for high repeatability, are used to control beam size and reduce detector saturation in laser and imaging applications. Stock sizes range from 2µm to 1000µm and are available mounted in blackened aluminium rings or supplied unmounted as foil. Larger apertures (>5µm) can be blackened as a custom option.
High-power pinhole apertures for laser systems use copper substrates with gold plating for reflection and black coating for absorption. Thinned to 25µm for improved definition, they typically withstand 100–200 MW/cm² at 10ns pulses at 700nm.
Custom pinhole apertures in bespoke sizes are available on request.
