Achromatic Doublet Lenses
Knight Optical is able to design and build IR Achromatic Doublet Lenses. Infrared achromatic doublet lenses are designed to meet a custom specification as requested by our customer which meets their specific requirements. The wavelength range covers the near infra-red (700nm to 1.5µm), mid infra-red (3 to 5µm), and far infra-red (8 to 12µm) also further FAR-IR wavelengths can easily be met. Suitable optical materials are used to optimise the design and to meet any specification. The materials that are available depend on, for example, the waveband required, how achromatic the doublet needs to be, and the environment that the doublet is required to operate within. Typical applications for IR Achromatic Doublet Lenses are collimating a laser output, or optical fibre. The doublets can also be part of a larger optic such as a staring IR array sensor, or LiDAR system.
