Knight Optical offers an extensive range of high-performance ball lenses used for applications such as fibre coupling, laser collimation, endoscopy, and barcode scanners. Featuring a short back focal length, ball lenses can be used to minimise the distance between the lens and the optical fibre to improve signal quality.
Our ready-to-ship stock ball lenses are available in a range of materials covering UV to NIR wavelengths with substrates including quartz (UV–IR transmission, 185 nm–2000+ nm), sapphire, UV fused silica (UVFS), cubic zirconia, and optical glasses including N-BK7, LASFN-9 and high-index LASFN-35 and S-LAH79. All our stock ball lenses are manufactured to grade 25 tolerances as determined by the AFBMA grades, however different grades, dimensions, materials are available as custom options including ruby, alumina, and spinel ball lenses.
Every component is individually QA-tested in our advanced metrology lab, ensuring consistency and performance.
Antireflective coating of stock lenses.
Stock ball lenses can be edged down to produce a drum lens.
Mounting into cells.
