Optical components in infrared materials
Knight Optical’s infrared optical materials are used in a wide range of applications such as advanced thermal systems used by the military and for security imaging applications.
We also supply components for infrared sensors for engineering and industrial manufacturing and in thermography, where infrared radiation is detected and mapped.
Materials commonly used as infrared materials include germanium, sapphire, calcium fluoride and zinc sulphide.
Our extensive choice of infrared materials is available as:
- Ground blanks
- Polished windows
- Lenses in various form including spherical and meniscus
- Diamond turned aspherics
Our infrared optical components can benefit from anti-reflection and hard coatings, optimised for your specifications, with DLC for 3 – 5 micons and 8 – 12 microns and AR coatings for custom wavelength bands and multiwavelengths.
Knight Optical’s Infrared capabilities are designed with exact specification compliance in mind. Custom specifications of dimensions, focal lengths and tolerances are quoted on an individual basis. If you can’t find what you are looking for in our stock items please contact us for a custom quote.
