Knight Optical are global leaders in custom optical solutions. We have a team of Science and Business graduates complimented by a management team with years of experience. We work closely with our customers to achieve their specific goals in the design and manufacture of custom optics and mechanics to their exact requirements.
Stock Optic Solutions
We also hold a large inventory of stock optical components for use in ultra-violet, visible, near infrared and far-infrared applications that can be customized at short notice to meet your specific requirements.
Optical Expertise in Manufacturing and Engineering Applications
We have a considerable customer base across the sector and as a long-term partner with many spearheads within the field, our optical components are regularly specified for large- and small-scale applications such as:
Laser Application
As laser instruments become increasingly sophisticated, so the ability to customise optical components to suit specific application and external demands is growing in importance. From edging to smaller diameters and alternative shapes through to polishing, fire polishing and diamond turning, there is a great deal we can do to engineer optical components to meet specific criteria.
Contact Knight Optical with your laser application enquiries, including;
- Optics for advanced machine vision systems
- Optics for laser scanning equipment
- Optics for laser measurement
Borescopes for Inspection
Borescopes are optical device that consists of long flexible or rigid tube that can be used to inspect cavities and areas that are not easily accessible by other means. To form an image, objective lenses are used to gather the object under inspection, relay lenses are then used to transmit the image along the tube and then an eyepiece lens is used to magnify and focus the image for the viewer or camera.
Knight Optical can provide custom and stock rod lenses, achromatic doublet lenses, gradient index lenses (GRIN) and many other objective lenses, eyepiece lenses and prisms for use in the visible and IR. If required any optical component can have an anti-reflective (AR) applied. For high quality borescope imaging Knight Optical can produce optical components to the strictest requirements.
Detectors and Analysers
Optical instruments used for gas detection and monitoring applications naturally present a raft of unique challenges in a design sense, not least the need to meet a host of strict regulatory criteria. Speed, size, efficiency, accuracy, reliability, minimal maintenance and longevity are further vital factors for gas detection and monitoring.
Contact Knight Optical with your detector application enquiries, including;
- Optics for continuous emission systems (CEMS)
- Optics for gas detection
- Optics for environmental monitoring
- Optics for continuous emission system
- Optics for Laser particle counter
- Optics for Fourier transformer spectroscope
- KRS-5 Thallium Bromide Iodide optics for FTIR spectroscopy
- Sodium Chloride optics for Infrared spectroscopes
Optics for thermal Imaging
The most important component of a thermal imaging system is the optical lenses and components that captures IR radiation to a heat sensor, which is then adapted to work alongside standard image-capture technologies. This allows users to quickly identify regions of excessive temperature or sources of wasted heat energy, such as overheating components or potential thermal insulation gaps in building inspection. Contact Knight Optical with your thermal imaging enquiries, including;
- IR temperature sensor optics
- Spot measurement optics
- Barium fluoride for IR imaging systems
- Calcium fluoride for thermography systems
- Germanium Lenses
- Germanium Windows
Understanding Quality
Our rigorous testing procedures – using advanced metrology equipment and skilled QA inspectors – ensure all our products satisfy even the most specific requirements. This applies to one-off custom parts and large production runs. Every single component we supply is proven to perform. We will also provide you with all the information you require for your documentation. We can reassure you that there is transparency on your ordered items including a metrology report and a certificate of conformance to quality standards. We are able to provide you with as much information as required to ensure that legal obligations are met, allowing your instrument to be approved for use as soon as possible.
Whether you want us to manufacture optical components based on your technical drawings, or need us to design parts or systems for your brief, we have the resources to make your concepts a reality. We always start by understanding your particular needs and expectations, and work to ISO 10110, BS 4301-1991, and MIL-PRF-13830B, to produce optical components and sub-assemblies at the correct quality, on time and within budget.
Knight Optical value every one of our customers, and therefore you will be assigned a dedicated account manager, who cares as much about your project as you do. They make the process of getting a quotation to receiving an order, as smooth as possible. We go above and beyond ensuring that your supply chain experience is as stress-free as possible.
