Ocean Optics optical fibre assemblies and probes collect and direct light in spectrometer setups. With a range of fibres and probes available to purchase directly from Knight Optical, there is a solution optimised for your application and environment. 

Fibre Optics

Fibre optics play a crucial role in delivering radiation from a light source to the sample and collecting the resulting signals, guiding light with minimal loss and distortion, ensuring accurate and reliable measurements. Knight Optical have premium and solarisation grade available. Our premium grade are durable, high-quality patch cords with silicone coated steel monocoil or stainless steel BX jacketing, available as UV-VIS and VIS-NIR options. The solarisation-resistant, and extreme solarisation-resistant, optical fibres mitigate the effects of UV degradation when used at wavelengths below 400µm compared to premium and standard optical fibres. 

Reflection/Backscattering Probes

Reflection proves are ideal for measuring diffuse or specular reflectance from solid surfaces or backscatterign and fluorescence in solutions and powders. Available as premium and solarisation-grade options, these probes consist of 6 illumination fibres tightly packed around 1 read fibre to ensure parallel orientation of the fibres.

Transmission Dip Probes

Knight Optical offers Ocean Optics Transmission Dip Probes in standard and industrial grade. The standard grade has a PEEK probe tip which is chemically inert allowing it to measure absorbance and transmission in harsh environments. The industrial grade has a stainless steel probe and sleeve and can be used in environments with pressure limits up to 250psi and temperatures up to 300°C. Path tips, including adjustable path tips, are available for both grades. 

Raman Probes

Ocean Optics Raman Probes are built specifically for Raman Spectroscopy and are available in several excitation wavelengths. Housed in a hard anodised aluminium housing, these probes are suitable for laboratory, industrial, and environmental applications. Knight Optical offers the Raman probes with the option to include a fibre bundle which consists of 1m long 105µm excitation fibre with FC/PC connectors and 1m long 600µm collection fiber with SMA connectors. All of the Raman probes come with a 10mm focal length lens.
