Knight Optical offers a comprehensive range of Kreischer Transmission Spheres, available in 4” and 6” apertures with a bayonet mount compatible with most interferometers. Our standard transmission spheres are polished to a precision of lambda/20 for 633nm Fizeau interferometers.
The innovative design of Kreischer Transmission Spheres allows for the measurement of an extended range, accommodating larger radii of curvature on convex surfaces compared to other transmission spheres on the market.
Currently, our 4” series is available in F-numbers from F/0.75 to F/3.3, and our 6” series is available in F-numbers from F/1.1 to F/2.4. Additional F-numbers can be provided upon request.

- R: Radius (of curvature) – the radius of the reference surface.
- D: Diameter – the diameter of the reference surface.
- WD: Working Distance – the distance from the focal point to the cell.
- OD: Outer Diameter – the outer diameter of the lens cell (housing).
- L: Length – the length the cell extends beyond the interferometer.
- EFL: Effective Focal Length
- Quality (PV) – the quality of the system, this is the surface figure of the reference surface, but it extends throughout the optical system.
