Optical glass blowing
Glass is both reflective and refractive and has the ability to transmit light following geometrical optics without scattering it. These qualities can be enhanced by cutting and polishing in order to make optical lenses, prisms, windows, mirrors and filters.
Borosilicate glass is widely used for laboratory glassware due to its excellent thermal properties, low amount of expansion and high softening point. Borosilicate glass also offers a high level of resistance to attack from water, acids, salt solutions, organic solvents and halogens.
