Beamsplitters

A wide range of optical beamsplitters is offered for all beam steering applications. There are two builds of beamsplitter, cube beamsplitters or plate beamsplitters. The splitting can be on the basis of wavelength (a dichroic beam splitter), polarisation or simply intensity independent of wavelength or polarisation state.
Cube splitters tend to be more robust and have the splitter surface, almost always an interference coating, well protected inside the cube. Plate splitters have the splitter coating on one surface of a suitable window, typically between 1mm, 3mm and 6mm thick, with a beamsplitter coating on one face and a multilayer dielectic AR coating on the second face.
