| This particular range of lenses come in the Plano-concave form. Plano-concave lenses have one inward curved face and one flat face.
This will effectively bend parallel input rays so that they diverge away from one another on the output side of the lens. With a negative focal length, Plano-concave lenses are mainly used for image reduction or to spread light. In certain applications these lenses take different aliases, being known as a tube length correction lens in microscopy and as a Barlow lens in astronomy. Our Plano-concave lenses are made from fused silica for use in the UV range, down to 170nm. Such properties make these lenses ideal for hostile environments requiring greater thermal, chemical and radiation resistance compared with ordinary glasses. The Plano-concave lenses stocked below are uncoated.
